I think the best you can do is cram an AC2 into a Locust (even worse, because the energy hardpoints are mediums-sized, I can't shove a PPC or large laser in there). Slots are fixed, so even if you strip weapons or jumpjets out, you can't fill that crit space with anything else. The mechlab is a lot more restrictive than BT or MWO though.
